Paul "Snowflake" Taylor: 10.22.16
I hadn't seen or heard anything like it before. I was sitting in the front row, and the musician in front of me was ... what was he doing, exactly? Playing one instrument, recording it; then another, and the same. Until finally one person was performing a multi-tracked live piece. The looping phenomenon has become fairly mainstream at this point, but at that time, it was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen happen in a coffee shop. And the musician doing it was Paul Taylor. After that night, I always remembered his name. In the years since, Paul has continued to invent and innovate, always adding a new layer to the Memphis music scene. He plays his ever-loving booty off gig-wise, but he came to us with a personal desire to perform for the kind of crowd Folk All Y'all gathers. I can't think of anyone more deserving of the respect and attention (and occasional absurdity) our setting can provide. PAUL SOUNDS GREAT! HOW DO I SEE HIM?
