TENEIA

  • The Green Room at Crosstown Arts 1350 Concourse Avenue #280 Memphis, TN, 38104 United States (map)

Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, Teneia (she/her) is an international touring musician and songwriter and has seven albums to her credit. She has won multiple awards and had her work featured in HBO, Netflix, and award-winning independent films. She's shared the stage with various critically-acclaimed artists and songwriters, including Lucinda Williams, Jessi Colter, Tab Benoit, The War and Treaty, and more.

One of Teneia's most prominent pieces, "Stand," earned a placement in the HBO documentary, “Prom Night in Mississippi." "Stand" embodies Teneia's ability as an artist to address deeply rooted social issues fearlessly and confidently. Her true talent however, is how she connects with each audience, leaving their minds filled with reflection and their hearts filled with hope.

Teneia was one of our early guests back in the Dining Room Days and absolutely blew the roof off with her talent and charisma. We're so excited to welcome her back to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series!
