Known as “The American Songster,” Dom Flemons (he/him) is a founding member of the Grammy-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops and has spent his career exploring the interconnected traditions that shaped American music. A singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, historian and storyteller, his performances move fluidly through blues, folk, country, old-time, Piedmont and Black roots traditions while illuminating the people and stories behind the music.
His new album, Making American Music, arrives January 22, 2027 and provides the foundation for something particularly special: a concert experience that is equally entertaining, musically exceptional and culturally rich. Through performance and storytelling, Dom connects the music audiences hear today to the musicians, instruments, communities and traditions that helped create it, while demonstrating that American roots music is not a relic of the past, but a living tradition that continues to evolve.
